SOME HIGHLIGHTS OF YOUR TOUR
Pick Up At Your Stay
The archeological site of Ancient Ostia is located outside Rome, in the quite Roman countryside.
Your tour guide and private car will come and pick you up directly at your stay in Rome downtown, thus you can relax and reach your destination easily and comfortably. It’s going to be a great trip!
Ancient Ostia And Its Ruins
Located just at the mouth of the Tiber River, Ancient Ostia used to be the harbor of Rome, founded in the 4th century b.C.
This rich city was also used as a storage for the goods destined to be transported to Rome and was the main area for bread production.
The Archeological Park
This beautiful archeological park is really a huge site! Your private tour guide will lead you during the walk and help you orienting yourself through its incredibly well- preserved remains of the late Roman Empire.
It really shows all aspects of life at the time: an amphitheater, a mill, forums and buildings, baths and also an ancient “shopping center”. The mosaic floors are really beautiful, as some of the remaining frescoes on the walls. We will enter in a real Roman tavern with its counter and then go on to visit the central square!
On request, it will also be possible to visit the residential area Domus Antichi Romani and an ancient latrine!
